The AWL Weather Network is redesigning the Network Weather Information Downloader Computer (NWIDC) software. The purpose of this new and exciting version is to allow better and faster performance options and allows us to generate the AWN graphics within the software itself. With this new NWIDC software, the program will be able to:

We are re-imagining how we do A Meteorological Christmas this year. During AWN Tracks Santa, instead of seeing just AWN Tracks Santa, you will see both weather and Santa information on the same screen. That way, we can deliver both Santa tracking information and weather information. More details will be released when we get closer.

Austin Althouse a student from Douglass High School is being honored with the 2017 KSHSAA Heart of the Arts Award, which recognizes the values of participants in high school arts programs that go above and beyond the norm. Austin Althouse has been featured by KWCH 12 Eyewitness News and the Butler County Times for his knowledge of weather. But this past May, he was recognized by the Kansas Department of Education's Technical Assistance System Network or TASN for short. TASN, according to their website, provides technical assistance to help and support school districts' implementation of evidence-based practices. The video production occured on Friday, May 12th.

The NWIDC Digital HD10 Thunder will be replaced with a new version of the NWIDC Software. AWN will be releasing NWIDC Digital HD10 Core. The reason for this update is because of many performance issues we have had with the program. The program has the tendency to crash when it is needed the most. The program is also known to not always update some information.
